Tennisball football

My cousin David, invented this new game to play with my dogs and its actually quite a fun game. You kinda of play football, but with a tennis ball. Cooper plays defense and Daisy is on offense. I run around the backyard and Cooper tries to chase me and get the ball while I try and get Daisy open and toss her the ball and she catches it in her mouth. Then Cooper chases her since she is the one with the ball, its quite fun. Only problem is, Daisy has a tendency to bark if I take too long getting her the ball. She is a very impatient receiver. So its not a game that we can play too long at night cause it disturbs the neighbors. But its a very fun game, way too go David for coming up with it. Its fun for everyone!

Motivation City

Its been a while since I have written a blog, im rather slacking in the blog department since I was going almost daily for a while. I feel as though I am slacking, I am working on this whole new city I have decided to become a resident of. And that is Motivation city. I have decided that I am going to do the whole "new years" resolution a little early this year. Not only is Chet a wonderful guy but he has also helped to motivate me to want to change for the better. He is helping to encourage my spiritual side, making sure I am reading my scriptures every day and saying my prayers. I have also been working on myself physically and trying to at least walk my dogs every day I can, since it benefits both them AND me. I also am trying to watch what I eat and drink more water. Im not saying im going on a diet, cause I don't do those lol. I have to create an environment where mentally I can flourish. If I tell myself Im going on a diet I just start to hate life lol. Things are going so much better in my life than they have in a while and I can't be more grateful.

Monster Trucks

So last night I drove to Wichita Falls to meet up with a guy that i have been talking to on ldsplanet. My friend Vance had a monster truck show up there last night, so it worked out as a good excuse to go up there. We took his daughter and went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then we went to the monster truck show. I had a great time, he is totally funny, and totally cute! His daughter is a doll, she told us that we were going to get married cause she could tell we were in love and I was her new best friend lol. Gotta love 6 year olds!

The Neti Pot Experience

When plagued with the "experience" of being sick, one finds it a very miserable experience. However given a few things being sick is something that can actually be dealt with. While being sick is very inconvenient, it becomes rather difficult to manage when you just cannot breathe. When your nose is completely stuffed, and your lungs are full of mucus. LOL Speaking of mucus, I had a 6 year old patient in the hospital that told me in order for him to be able to go home he had to get all of the "people" out. I had no earthly idea of what he was talking about until he started to cough up stuff and he told his dad he got some of the "people out!" Thats someone who watched too many commercials. But back to what I was saying, I have tried Sudafed that you get behind the counter at the pharmacy, and i've tried Sudafed PE also known as phenylephrine and still no success in breathing. So I decided to to try my hand at the Neti Pot experience again, hoping that maybe that would get me some relief. For those of you who don't know what the Neti Pot is, let me tell you, it is an experience you will never forget.
The idea behind this little contraption is that you fill the little kettle up with warm water, pour in the little saline packets, and then you turn your head, stick it on one nostril, and ideally it should come out the other side. Ive done this before, and that was actually what happened, and while it feels like you jumped into a pool and forgot to plug your nose, it has brought me great relief before. Not this time! I there is no coming out the other side, there is juts too much in there! Last night i succeeded in giving myself multiple bloody noses, this time I didn't get much. So after once again trying to enjoy the experience that is the Neti pot, I guess I must just wait and pray the antibiotics I finally got started on today, will start to work soon. I'm thinking the odds of me making it to work tomorrow aren't very high. *sigh*
My mom came by today to bring my vitamins to make myself well. So every 2 hours since one today I have had to take pills. She called me every two hours for the first few til I got in the habit myself. She also did not like my messy bedroom, so she spent a good hour cleaning that while I lied on on my bed. Aren't moms great! Now if I can just wish this sickness gone, I have good plans on saturday to meet a really cute boy and by golly I don't want to miss it!

A proud mama

Cooper, my terrier, is 16 months old and he has never mastered the art of walking on a leash. He has a tendency to pull so hard he makes himself gag the whole time and usually ends up throwing up. I tried using a gentle leader on him like Daisy uses, but that wasn't very successful.
Well being home and really not leaving my house for the last 4 days now has gotten rather hard on the dogs. Well, we are all actually getting a horrible case of cabin fever. So I decided to take the dogs to Petsmart to find a body harness for Cooper. Two dogs in the middle of dog heaven turned out to be not the smartest idea on my part. It ended up being me being half drug around the store. One dog would go one way, and of course the other would go the other and I got tangled up in their leashes so many times I was sure I was going to wipe out on the floor for everyone to see. I brought them along because I wanted someone to help me fit the harness to cooper in hopes that I would be able to find the right size and such. However there was no one avaliable so I returned the dogs to the car, purchased the harness and went home.
After I got home I hooked each dog up to their harnesses, the body harness for Cooper, and then Gentle Leader for Daisy. The gentle leader works amazing for Daisy, she becomes the most obediant dog when its on. In her mind, she has to be a good dog when she wears it, as soon as its off she runs around like crazy, but as long as its on she can go on a walk and never pulls. But anywho, I got both dogs hooked up and away we went on a walk. This is something I have never been able to do with both of my dogs, by myself. However I must have found the correct leashes for both of them because it was almost a picture perfect walk. They stayed together, only stopping occasionally to sniff, but kept going. When other dogs would bark, I would use the sound the Dog Whisperer uses, and they would continue to walk, not paying attention to the other dogs. (Side note: Thank you Nancy P for encouraging me to watch that show, it really is the best!) We only went around the block once, it was all my lungs could handle at this point in time. So all together we were only gone about 15 minutes, but I was so stinkin proud of my dogs!

A Shameless Plug

I know most of you who read this blog are from Texas, but I wanted to post a shameless plug for my Aunt Sasha in case anyone is every in the need for a fantastic photographer. Sasha is absolutely amazing!!! She has done both of my sisters weddings, and she is worth every penny!!! She is actually pretty inexpensive and will actually fly to places if needed for a wedding/event (since she does live in Utah). Just keep her in mind the next time you hear of anyone needing a photographer! You will not regret it!

Here are a few pictures I could find that she has taken, but I lost most of my pictures, so if you want to see more of her amazing work go here or here.

"I want to pump you up!"

So, being home sick has given me entirely too much time to sit and think about nothing and everything all at once. After going to the doctor and falling for the lets see how much to weigh line, I have no vowed to start exercising and eating better after this weekend. This has been a bad year for me in that category and it has gone on long enough.

A woman goes to the doctor for her yearly physical.
The nurse starts with certain basic items.
'How much do you weigh?' she asks.
'115,' she says.
The nurse puts her on the scale
It turns out her we ight is 140.

The nurse asks, 'Your height? '
'5 foot 8,' she says.
The nurse checks and sees that she only measures 5' 5'.

She then takes her blood pressure
And tells the woman it is very high.
'Of course it's high!' she screams,
'When I came in here I was tall and slender!
Now I'm short and fat!'

This is kind of how I felt afterwards. But that's what I needed a swift kick in the butt to send me on my way. So its my goal to the McKinney YMCA and check out the facilities and sign myself up. I can't just sit around and watch Biggest Loser and watch them work their butts off, and not do something myself. So hopefully in the next few days I will start feeling better and be able to start something good for myself. I figure I need to set a weight goal to better encourage myself. So I will be working out all the details tonight im sure, especially if its anything like last night, when I didn't fall asleep til 6am. Working nights sucks! It has me all screwed up lol. So anywho, after my date this weekend in Wichita Falls, I shall start the whole working towards a better me plan. Wish me luck!
